BIOMASS FEEDING SYSTEMS

A client operating in the biomass and energy sector required engineering support for the development of a technical concept and full design documentation for biomass feeding systems.

Fabrit delivered the complete engineering package, while the manufacturing of the equipment was carried out by the client.

Client Challenge

The project required the design of feeding systems capable of handling various organic materials with different moisture levels, densities, and structures.

Key challenges included:

  • stable and controlled material transfer,

  • reliable operation with irregular and variable biomass,

  • resistance to aggressive and humid environments,

  • continuous mass monitoring and dosing control,

  • ensuring long-term operational reliability.

Scope of Work

Fabrit was responsible for:

  • development of the technological concept,

  • mechanical design of the feeding systems,

  • 3D modeling of complete assemblies,

  • preparation of detailed technical documentation.

The designed system included feeders with different hopper capacities and various material transfer methods.

Implemented Solution

The feeding systems were equipped with:

  • moving floor mechanisms for controlled discharge,

  • integrated weighing systems for real-time mass monitoring,

  • screw conveyors for material transfer,

  • corrosion-resistant construction adapted to harsh environments.

The solution ensures stable dosing and transport of biomass while maintaining high durability and reliability.

Results

  • delivery of a complete, production-ready engineering design,
  • stable and controlled biomass transfer,
  • improved dosing accuracy,
  • increased system reliability in demanding environments,
  • enhanced process control.
